This is a collection of poems that i have written over time. I never hope to pick up writing poetry as a full-time hobby, but these are occasional poetic flashes that come to me and their outcome. I do hope the poems are liked in general (some of them are no doubt controversial, but hey, freedom of speech!!) and whenever you visit, DON'T forget to leave a comment or two on my progress... Let the music of creation flow through you!!!
You just don't get me Try to understand my point of view The meaning behind what I see My motives for seeking all that's new
None of you can even comprehend me The shoes I wear, a different size, If you knew, you would have set me free, And stopped believing in your own silly lies
Not even those closest seem to grasp me They believe what they want to believe Letting me be is the key For me to stop running and never leave
I don't think you really get me You would rather take what you need Growing wilder than the branch of an oak tree Anticipating where my freedom will lead
Do you even want to know me? Maybe my insides are just too scary for you A different person; a strange cup of tea, Don't worry; I'm not getting you too!
Best Friends forever Together through whatever. Every time I do wrong Here you are to make me strong. We have been through happy, sad, hard, and bad times Without you this poem wouldn't have rhyme. I want this friendship to be long Because I know that together we belong...
This poem needs no explanation, and i can offer none... Just read it and check it out for yourself...
Just there where no one cries Sky where no vulture flies No stinking smell of rotten flesh I promise I'll love you there, With my heart afresh.
Where no man lives in the street For living no one touches your feet No possessor of mankind, no deprived slave, I promise I'll love you there, With all my rave.
Just there when you open the door To the strangers to help them more No destitute dies like an eternal waste I'll be with you there, And love you my best.
Where there is no cultural debate A place where no religions to hate People live life like as it is I promise I'll love you there, Like an open breeze.
Just there where my brothers don't fight No war and no soldiers on either side No discriminations for and colour and race I'll be waiting for you there, To see your angelic face.
Where there is no boundary to confine people No one fights for religious steeple No holy war to put life in a swirl I promise I'll love you there, In that blessed world...
This is a poem I recently wrote and its on abortion. I understand the topic is a very sensitive one, but the views expressed here are mine alone, and I must ask you to keep that in mind while reading it...
Unraveling fingers never knew the touch Of a mother's love or cradling embrace; Disallowed voice, not granted as much As a half attempt in this nine month race.
Eyelids never opened to sunlight, Nor did bare blue that would fine-tune; Blissful daybreak an unseen sight, Alike shimmering glow of full moon.
The leaves of Autumn never did fall, Summer's heat wasn't once felt; Ears never did listen to Spring's calls, Eyes never watched snow slowly melt.
Precious laughter never spoke aloud, The joyous tones were forever hushed; Pressures heard from judging crowd Decided all that was to be rushed.
Angelic whispers of hair never grew, Smiles hidden on blushed cheeks; For all was taken before date due, So many years stolen in mere weeks.
Nameless, unknown and without voice First hello overlooked with goodbye; All was decided in a single choice, Society sang its curtain fall lullaby.
Floating in a distant, timeless land, Playful spirit knows none of this; Life's gifts they'll never understand, All that is to be innocently missed...
We may fight But our friendship is outta sight You pick me up when I fall You make sure I stand tall I love you like the sister/brother I never had And you check on me when I feel sad You and I both talk smack But we have a real friendship and that's a fact You make me face my fears And when one cries we both shed tears...
God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle's flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece was complete, And so, he called it... Dad.
NB: This is NOT an original composition by me, but by a guy named Penny Parker. This is a poem that really touched my heart, so I've posted it...
This is a total time-pass poem i wrote once, just for da hec of it. I have absolutely NOTHING against cooks or their profession and if you are a chef, please DON'T sue me...
Good morning, staff and students, We have a brand new cook, And that's why our lunch menu Will have a brand new look.
To make a good impression, Our cook's prepared a treat: Your choice of snapping turtle soup Or deep-fried monkey meat.
If you're a vegetarian, We have good news today: She's serving pickled cauliflower And jellyfish souffle.
And for dessert our cook has made A recipe from France: I'm sure you'll all want seconds Of chocolate-covered ants.
I hope you like this gourmet feast, I hope you won't complain; But if you do we all have to bring Our old cook back again...
This is a poem i dedicate to all the great friends I've met along the journey of Life. Thanks a lot for being there when I needed you the most!!!
Not another fairytale ending Or something pulled from a book Not another farewell sending With one quick backward look.
It always seems the same, Everyday, everyone, every way, When the sun went and came I wish I can throw everything away.
I wish I could throw away everything, All those meaningless notes and words Because we both know that forever These notes and feelings will go unheard.
So if you dare, come join me, And together, let us burn the words, The words written down in blood and ink And together, write our own little world.
Where we can be together, as one, The two of us, just you and I, And we will be each others' company And protection until the day we die.
But if you betray this whatsoever It's you who shall be paying For the world that you destroyed It will be mercy you'll be craving.
Yes, but i swear to you in deepest secrecy, No word of yours that I may or may not hear Shall ever pass from between these two lips, Lest i fail in friendship for you, my dear...
This is one of the first poems I ever wrote, a long time ago for a friend whom I dearly loved and who was taken from me by fate. The years have passed and her memories have blurred, but this poem lingers on in my heart...
I could search beyond the never ending stars Beyond the depths of the deepest oceans, To look for something that is ours And not one word can describe these emotions.
Its those eyes of gold And that heart you hold, Its you I want to see With you I want to be.
I just want everything to go so right And for things to reach a never-ending height, This is a feeling I have never once got You've got my heart all up in a knot.
I'm just so glad I've met you You're just too good to be true, I don't want you to leave my lonely side Please girl, don't ever say goodbye...
